Search Providers These allow users to search the Internet automatically using the Internet Explorer search window. A new window or tab is opened to display the results of the search query on the search engine provider's home page. Accelerators Accelerators allow users to perform actions after selecting text. Internet Explorer ships with several default accelerators, though users can add more accelerators by clicking the Find More Accelerators item. The default accelerator categories are: Blog This category of accelerator allows you to post selected information directly to a specially configured blog. E-mail This category of accelerator allows you to send the selected information in an email. Using the accelerator opens the e-mail program associated with the accelerator and paste the selected text into a new e-mail message. Map This category of accelerator allows you to perform a search of an online mapping service based on text selected in the browser. You will use a mapping accelerator in the practice at the end of this lesson. Translate This category of accelerator allows you to translate selected text into another language using an online translation engine.
